Much Too Long :: The Sounds

Having exactly zero in common with the previous post (well, I guess if you don't count that both band names start with the same letter), I present you with The Sounds, a bunch of Sweedes that haven't escaped the '80s. Yay Casiotone!

The band is fronted by Maja Ivarsson, who wants to be "the best female vocalist around... or at least of this century". I'm reasonably sure that history won't judge her that way, but you have to give the girl credit for having some serious balance skillz in high heels.

Aside from the cover and maybe one other track, the rest of the album is forgettable, but "much too long" is catchy and new and thus worthy of a listen.

  1. Point of Fact #1:

"Song with a Mission" is a third good song from 2006's "Dying to Say This to You".

    Point of Fact #2:

Their "actually new" album is called "Crossing the Rubicon" and comes out in May.

    Point of Fact #3:

The photo you posted of Maja makes me feel tingly.

  2. pointed fact #1 - I forgot about that song, thus it was technically 'forgettable'. Maybe the song isn't so bad. Okay, I rescind my criticism of the rest of the album. But the cover and 'much too long' are still the best parts of it. So there.

pointed fact #2 - if it isn't out yet, it technically isn't new. In one month it'll be new.

pointed fact #3 - true dat.
