  1. God. That only means I'm "mainstream". Shudder... But I would have loved to post "Single Ladies" on here. Am I alone here? That's my jam!

  2. So I didn't make a whole post about Faust's Greatness, but I did point out in a comment that Pitchfork also had White Winter Hymnal as their #2 track for 2008. I think that assuages concerns of being "mainstream" and boosts your Indy-cred, Faust.

    Check it.

  3. You might have a future as Faust The Tastemaker. Hone that music palate I say.

  4. Also, Ready for the Floor was #3 on Pitchfork. So that's pretty tough to beat, Faust the Tastemaker. I wonder if anyone can take credit for #4?

  5. Also, thanks for burning Ida Maria for me. That was in my stable of potential songs, but I'll be damned if I post a song that:

    a) Time Magazine says is one of the 10 best.
    b) Is not technically for sale in the U.S. (Q: How can a song that's not "out" yet top an American magazine's best-of list? A: Because they blasted a Brit-hipster mag list and didn't do their homework)
    c) Is on only one (ONE!) of Time Magazines lists. They printed 50 lists goddamnit! So you know they've been painstakingly crafted.
    d) (Most importantly) Has already appeared in print on the CDC website.

    Oh My God!

  6. Hmmm... I don't know about indie-cred but I certainly do my fair bit of dabbling. I have my hands in all sorts of musical jars. I should start another blog for classical/vocal choral music and completely geek out. Oh, also old-time country and gospel music.
